In an old neighborhood in the outskirts of a city in Korea, residents discovered a dog trapped inside a playground. The area was fenced and locked as it was part of an abandoned kindergarten. The dog could not have gotten inside by himself.
One of the guys who first discovered the dog recalled seeing an empty sack near where the frightened pooch was lingering. They think that the dog was put inside it, then was thrown over the gate. His owner must have abandoned him.
None of the residents had the key to the locks, so no one could get in and help him. So they did the next best thing. They took turns giving him food every day. They would place his meal near the gate.
The dog though was scared of humans. he might have been traumatized by past abuses. So he doesn’t go near the gate if someone was there.
For the next seven months, the dog stayed inside the fenced playground, trapped and with nowhere to go. Thanks to the kindness of the neighbors, he had something to eat. But despite the help of the humans around him, he was still frightened of them.
Time to go
The neighborhood was going to be put under new development. Residents were asked to move away. This meant that there will be no one left to take care of the homeless pup. So they got in touch with the local authorities who then sent a team of rescuers to retrieve the dog.
using ladders, they went up the wall and slid down on one of the slides. They set up nets to limit the space where the dog can run. using nets, they approached the dog who then started running away.
But with the net in place, there was nowhere he could go. Once he was cornered by the wall, the men were able to catch him. The trapped pooch was brought to a vet where they discovered that he had several heartworms. Thankfully, he was brought in and the condition could still be treated.
The dog will stay in a shelter while he is undergoing treatment and they will look for a family that will adopt him. Hopefully this time, they would love him and keep him forever.
