While some dogs are clearly cut out for outdoor adventure, many prefer to stay out of the action. This adorable Labrador belongs to the second category, especially when it comes to boating. But after years of being afraid of their family’s boat, the pooch finally conquered his fear in an adorably hilarious way.
Since Randi Mendenhall’s parents rescued Charlie at four years old, he had been the ever-faithful dog his family never knew they needed. He would often be seen cuddling with his fur parents and watching over them dutifully. But if there is one time when Charlie is nowhere near his family, it is when they go out boating.
You see, the adorable pup had always feared of getting into boats or any massive moving objects, for that matter. So whenever his family takes out their pontoon for a cruise, Charlie would often be left behind at home.
However, during one of the family’s recent boat cruises, it seemed that the adorable pup had a change of heart. He came with them to the dock and watched patiently as every single one in the family hopped onto the boat. Once the pontoon sailed out, Randi and her parents turned to wave goodbye to the pup.
They were expecting he would immediately head back to the woods to go home, just like he always did before. But instead, they noticed how sad he looked to see them go. So without much hesitation, Randi asked her dad to turn around to get Charlie.
But even before his family could try to go back to the dock, the excited pooch was already on his way over to the boat himself! He took around a minute before he reached them, but once he got to the boat, Randi’s fiancé hoisted him up, and everyone cheered to have him on board finally.
Randi mentioned that they would be buying him a life vest for his next boat trips with them, making him an official crew member. Watch Charlie’s hilarious and adorable boat chase here.
so here’s my parents old man after he followed us a quarter mile to the boat dock. We thought he’d just sit by the truck because he’s not a fan of boating, but the moment we realized he wanted to come with us we started trying to turn around. Apparently he got impatient and decided to swim out to us. Once we finally got the boat turned around we he was already to us 😂 luckily my fiancé is a strong dude and jumped in to push him up. My favorite part of this video is my fiancé’s kiddo telling my dad “good job sam” even though my dad did maybe 20% of the work😂😂 He’s officially getting a life vest and coming with us next time ❤️
