It is sad and frightening to hear stories about dogs that are taken away from their owners. The owners may be having sleepless nights. And they are getting worried sick, not knowing when they will see their dog again.
Some owners do not give up easily. They will do everything to find their best friend, even if that means spending a lot of money.
Among these owners is a woman named Emilie Talermo. She persistently looked for Jackson, her 5-year-old miniature Australian shepherd.
With her owner’s perseverance, she ended up reuniting with her dog.
The day Emilie and Jackson got separated
According to Emilie, her dog was stolen outside a grocery store in San Francisco four months ago. An unidentified man was spotted taking the dog away.
Distraught, Emilie started looking for Jackson. She created countless of flyers that she and her friends gave to people around the city. They even started a GoFundMe account to raise funds that they could use as a reward for anyone who would help them find the missing pooch.
Emilie said that there was a cap of $7,000. The rest of the money went to Rocket Dog Rescue, which had been helping them look for Jackson.
At one point, Emilie shelled out $1,200 for an airplane banner that would lead here to the website she launched. On the website, she shared her story and encouraged readers to help find Jackson.
Reunited with Jackson
After months of looking for Jackson, Emilie’s efforts finally paid off. According to her, an animal shelter in Los Angeles identified Jackson through his microchip.
Emilie said that she burst into tears when she received a call from the shelter. She said that the shelter did not disclose who dropped off the dog at the facility. She added that she was just happy to have Jackson back.
Emilie shared the good news via Instagram Story and thanked everyone who helped her.
