Dogs can be a source of happiness for the elderly because their presence brings joy and comfort. Miss Norma, who was already 90 years old at the time, found solace in his poodle named Ringo. After Miss Norma’s husband passed away, she was also diagnosed with uterine cancer.
Despite the diagnosis, she was still determined to live life to the fullest. She was supposed to undergo chemotherapy, but Miss Norma decided to hit the road with Ringo, her son, and daughter-in-law. Since they lived in an RV, her family could take her wherever she wanted to go. The family asked for the doctor’s advice regarding Miss Norma’s travel plans, and the doctor supported their approach.
Ringo was their co-pilot while Miss Norma’s son, Tim, and his wife Ramie were behind the wheel. They were ready to travel, and Miss Norma was excited to take on these adventures across the country. One of the beautiful places they explored was the Historic District in Beaufort, South Carolina.
They also rode a Historic Savannah Carriage Tour, and Ringo also enjoyed the ride as he got to see awesome places. Miss Norma’s family also drove her to Saint Augustine in Florida, and the trip wouldn’t be complete without Ringo to keep Miss Norma company. They made the most out of their Florida visit as they collected seashells on Sanibel Island. Ringo also accompanied Miss Norma at the International UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico.
With all the photos posted on Miss Norma’s Facebook page, Driving Miss Norma, her family, and Ringo had definitely made the elderly woman happy. Without a doubt, Miss Norma was able to share her love with her family and her furry friend. Her wish to make her last days memorable was granted. Unfortunately, she passed away on September 30, 2016, but her Facebook fans will always remember her epic road trip with Ringo and her family.
