Paul and Brittney, a kind couple, came across Ashley, a Siberian Husky, on Craigslist. The couple couldn’t resist the puppy’s sweet face so they decided to adopt her.
Life with Ashley
Ashley was very timid during her first days in her new house. It took a few days and lots of treats before she opened up to her new parents.
Since Brittney was a college student, Paul and Ashley were usually the ones that got to hang out all day. Their bond grew stronger as each day passed.
Fast forward three years later, the couple felt that Ashley needed a new friend. Paul and Brittney adopted Mavis, a sweet and loving dog, and fortunately, the two dogs instantly became best friends. Paul and Brittney’s family were growing so they decided to purchase a new home that had a big and spacious yard for the dogs to play in.
One day, when Paul got home from work, he saw that their front door was wide open. He immediately ran inside to check and make sure that everything was okay. He began panicking when Ashley was nowhere to be found.
Long way home
The couple then reviewed their security footage and saw that Ashley ran out of the house six hours before the dog sitter accidentally left the front door open. Paul and Brittney immediately drove through the whole city while putting up posters.
Paul and Brittney received a couple of calls the next day but not one had the real Ashley. They continued their search for a few days then began losing hope of finding their beloved dog.
Two weeks later, Brittney got tagged in an adoption post of a dog that looked like Ashley 300 miles away from where they lived. The couple didn’t want to get their hopes up but still decided to drive a few hours to make sure.
As soon as they arrived at the rescue shelter, the dog ran up to them. The couple immediately knew that it was Ashley and was thankful that they were finally reunited.
